Everything in the app

What PerfHQ does today, on iPhone and iPad. Access is by invitation through a coaching organisation.

Scheduling

Build a session once and let it repeat. PerfHQ handles daily, weekly, monthly and yearly recurrence with weekday selection, and end rules that run forever, until a date, or for a set number of sessions.

  • Group sessions, one-to-one lessons and one-off events
  • Capacity limits, minimum and maximum ages, and buffers between sessions
  • Reusable session templates, so a Thursday junior group is set up once
  • Sessions linked to a group, optionally restricted to that group and booking its members in automatically
  • Venues, kept in one list rather than retyped
  • A waitlist on a recurring series
  • A change history on every session, so you can see who moved what

Attendance is marked from the session itself — here, late, absent, or not yet marked — with a coach's note and a mark-all for the days it is simpler.

On iPhone the calendar is a week timeline. On iPad it adds month and day views and a mini-month sidebar, and the session builder shows a live preview of the day you are booking into.

Video feedback

Feedback in PerfHQ is a document, not a message. A coach builds it from the parts that suit what they are trying to say:

  • Written notes
  • Star ratings
  • Multiple-choice points
  • Video or photos, recorded in the app or picked from the library
  • A YouTube clip
  • A link to an article in the organisation's library

Save it as a draft, publish it, or schedule it for later. The athlete and their guardians read it in the app, video and all.

Video analysis, on the device

Open any clip in the workbench. Four tools:

Skeleton

A pose overlay traced from the video by Apple's Vision framework, running on your device.

Annotate

Draw on the frame at a moment in time. Lines, arrows, angles, circles, freehand and text, saved against that timestamp and still there when you come back. Export the marked-up frame, or save a copy back to the library.

Compare

Two videos side by side and locked together, or one ghosted over the other. Today against last month, or the athlete against a model.

Golf swing

See below.

None of this analysis is sent anywhere. It is computed on the device from video you already have.

Golf swing analysis

Golf is the first sport with a dedicated analyser in PerfHQ, and it goes deep:

  • Phase detectionThe swing broken into its P1 to P10 positions automatically
  • TempoThe backswing-to-downswing ratio, measured rather than eyeballed
  • Kinematic sequenceThe order the body segments fire in, charted
  • Biomechanical metricsWith benchmark bands drawn from tour-professional ranges
  • A fault catalogueFlags what it finds and suggests drills for it
  • A key-positions stripAnd a generated swing report
  • Handedness and camera angleSettings, so the numbers mean what they should

Everything else in PerfHQ — scheduling, assessments, feedback, groups — is sport-agnostic and in use across sports. Golf is where the swing analysis is.

Performance tracking

Define what you measure, then measure it consistently.

Metrics carry a unit, a number of decimal places, a direction that counts as improvement, sensible bounds, and a cap on attempts. Assessments collect metrics into a versioned battery, so this year's testing is comparable with last year's and you can see which version a score was recorded against.

Running an assessment is built for a coach holding an iPad in one hand: pick a session, a group or an athlete, trim the roster to who actually turned up, and work down a keypad grid. Attempts are chipped A1, A2, A3. Personal bests are flagged as they happen. A score can be redone or superseded without losing the trail.

Scores captured with no signal are not lost

They are held on the device and uploaded when you are back in range, retried on a backoff, and picked up again even if the app was force-quit in between.

Seeing it — multi-line trends, heatmaps, grouped bars, scatter and radar charts, group leaderboards, and an attendance matrix. Every change is recorded in an audit log for the coaches whose role allows it.

Coaching Mode, on iPad

A console for the side of the court, built to be used standing up and outdoors.

Pick the session you are running. The roster is down one side; tap an athlete to focus on them. Capture a photo or a clip from inside the app, and the capture drops into a strip you can send straight to review, to the drawing tools, or into a comparison.

When the session ends, choose what to send. The athlete gets a lesson summary with the clips and the notes attached.

Captures are held on the device until they upload — over Wi-Fi by default, so a session on a phone signal does not cost anyone their data. The queue survives a force-quit and resumes when the app opens.

People and groups

Groups

Their own record: details, athletes, performance trends and a leaderboard, assessment timelines, the schedule, an attendance matrix and a change history.

Athlete profiles

Bring together the glance view, their schedule, their family and emergency contacts, their bookings and their tasks.

Your organisation

A staff directory with role changes for those permitted to make them, and invitations for athletes and for guardians, with resend and cancel.

What an athlete sees

Their own dashboard: what is on this week, feedback waiting to be read, and who their coaches are.

Their own stats. Their own gallery of clips. Their own details, including the medical information and consents their organisation asked for.

What a parent sees

A guardian signs in once and works through setup for each child they look after — profile, date of birth, contact details, allergies, medical notes, emergency contact, and the media and social-media consents their organisation asks for.

Guardian links are per organisation, so a child who trains at two clubs has two separate links. Access ends automatically when the child turns 18.

  • See every device signed in to your account, and sign any of them out

Privacy and safeguarding, by design

  • Medical notes and emergency contacts are held behind their own permission, separate from the rest of an athlete's record
  • The notes a coach writes for their own use are never visible to the athlete or their guardians — they are excluded before any permission is even checked
  • Guardian access ends automatically at 18
  • Pose analysis runs on the device; the joint data is never uploaded
  • The app contains no third-party code, no analytics and no advertising, and does not track you
  • We do not use anyone's data to train machine-learning models
